Italian sausage and Swiss chard Gnocchi
Sausage meat is sautéed in olive oil with fresh garlic and deglazed in the white wine. We then add carrots, onion and celery, chicken broth and 35% cream. Gnocchi are cooked in this tasty creamy broth. Minced Swiss card leaves are added 5 minutes before serving. The result is absolutely delicious! This dish is also excellent reheated which makes it ideal for lunch box!

400 g Italian sausage meat |
2 cup Swiss chard, minced |
1/2 cup white wine |
3 cup chicken broth |
1 cup 35 % cream |
1 cup chopped celery |
1 cup chopped carrot |
1 cup chopped onions |
2 tbsp. olive oil |
2 garlic clove, crushed |
1 Chilli pepper, optional |
Salt and pepper to taste |
Preparation
In a big frying pan, add sausage meat, crushed garlic, chilli pepper and 2 tbsp. olive oil. Cook on medium heat until meat is golden brown, approximately 5 minutes.
Deglaze with white wine and let evaporate, approximately 2 minutes.
Add onions, celery, carrots, chicken broth, cover and cook over high heat about 10 minutes or until carrots are just perfect.
Add cream and gnocchi, salt and pepper to taste, cover and continue cooking over high heat 10 minutes.
Add minced Swiss chard leaves, continue cooking over medium heat approximately 5 minutes or until Swiss chard is perfect. Serve and enjoy.
