Fresh bread loaf with garlic, melted cheese and Balsamumm drizzle
We truly believe that Quebecers love garlic bread! So, Julie shares her way to prepare it. She uses small loaf of fresh bread. Using a bread knife she cuts the bread just on the top where she add cheese and seasoned garlic olive oil, bakes it in the oven until cheese is golden brown and bread is warm, served with a Balsamumm drizzle, everyone will love this!

Small loaf of bread, 227 to 250g |

50g Provolone cheese or other, preferably sliced |
½ Jalapeño pepper, minced (optional) |
1/3-cup olive oil and more for drizzling |
1 garlic clove, minced |
Fresh parsley leaves for garnish |
Salt and pepper to taste |
Preparation
Preheat oven at 500˚F.
Slice top of bread loaf with a good bread knife in order to make a grid in one sense then the other but without going to the base (as you would do for a mango or avocado for example).
Insert a slice of cheese in each opening on the length.
In a small bowl, combine minced garlic, minced Jalapeno Pepper, olive oil, salt and pepper and mix well. Add olive oil mixture between each slice of cheese and drizzle loaf with extra olive oil.
Bake about 5 to 7 minutes or until cheese is melted and golden.
Serve immediately with minced fresh parsley and Balsamumm drizzle.
